Kilcormac-Killoughey captured their fifth Offaly senior hurling championship title (and first since 2017) by dethroning Shinrone with a 3-26 to 3-8 win at St Brendan’s Park.
Last year’s beaten finalists were in impressive form at the Birr venue, where they closed the first-half with an unanswered 1-5 to take in a commanding 1-17 to 0-6 lead at the interval.
James Gorman fired in the goal for the winners on the half-hour mark and Charlie Mitchell would smash in their second 10 minutes after the break to kill off any chance for the holders.
Mitchell netted his second six minutes later and while Dara Maher (2) and Jason Sampson did register consolation goals at the other end for Shinrone, there’d be no denying Kilcormac-Killoughey on this occasion.
