Monaghan GAA have wished senior star Darren Hughes a speedy recovery after the knee injury he sustained in yesterday’s Ulster SFC preliminary round defeat to Cavan.
The Scotstown clubman was stretchered off the field at St Tiernach’s Park in the 42nd minute as the derby clash was delayed for a lengthy period in order for him to get the correct medical treatment.
Reports since suggest that Hughes’ injury is not as bad as first feared, with the midfielder having returned home from hospital last night.
Results from an MRI scan is set to confirm the extent of ligament damage to his knee.
