Monaghan GAA All Stars:

On Friday last Monaghan GAA hosted its annual GAA All Stars Awards night to highlight and acknowledge the exceptional contribution club players make to their club and their communities. Congratulations to Fergal Hanratty who was named at number 14 on the Intermediate Football All Star Team of 2018. Fergal’s tally of

2-29 in just three games in the championship meant he accounted for almost 60% of the team’s total scores in the 2018 Intermediate Championship and his tally was only overtaken by Barry McBennett in the final. We wish Fergal good luck for the 2019 season as he Captains the senior team.

One of the events is the Annual Charity Football Match which sees the return of former greats of the game from not only Corduff but neighbouring clubs in both Cavan and Monaghan and beyond. With less than 2 weeks to this event it’s time to dust down the boots and be ready for throw in on Saturday 13th April at 6pm in Corduff. This event is kindly sponsored by O’Rourke Oil. Ladies Fixtures:

Senifinal Time:

U14’s: Following a pulsating semifinal between Corduff and Magheracloone last Saturday Corduff emerged eventual winners. There was nothing between the sides throughout with both sides level after not only full time but also after extra time meaning the game went to a shoot out. In what was a nervous finish Corduff edged it on a scoreline of 1-13 to 3-06. The Corduff girls showed pure grit and determination to get over the line so congratulations to manager Barbara and the entire panel. The final takes on Tuesday April 9th and we wish everyone involved good luck. Full fixture details will be posted on social media.

Minors: The Minor team play in the League semifinal this Sunday when they meet Magheracloone. Throw in is at 5pm with venue to be confirmed. We wish Dermot and Nora plus the team good luck with this encounter.

Division 2 League: The Senior Ladies recorded their first win of the season against Magheracloone last Sunday on a scoreline of 2-11 to 2-4. Round 2 is on Saturday 20th April when Corduff welcome Scotstown.
