Juvenile Registration: Juvenile Registration takes place on Sunday week the 3rd of February in the Social Centre between 5 - 7pm. The fees are €15 per child or family of 4 €50. Also any juvenile mentors must be registered club members as per insurance regulations. 

 

Annual Dance: Our Annual Dance this year is being held on Saturday 16th February in the Social Centre. Guests of Honour this year are the successful Under 21 team of 2018 and Hall of Fame recipients. More details in next weeks issue

 

Child Protection Course: There is a child protection course coming up in the Social Centre in the next week or so. It is mandatory that anybody involved with children must have done this course and anybody involved with any of our teams must have it completed. As soon as a date is confirmed it will posted on social media outlets and in next weeks club notes. 

 

Poker: The Annual Texas Holdem Poker Classic was held in the Social Centre on Saturday night last. Thanks is extended to the organising committee especially John Hamilton & Angela Geoghegan Duffy and also to anyone who helped out on the night the ladies who sold raffle tickets and helped to serve the food to the players on the night thank you very much.  Finally a special word of thanks must go to James Bannigan who ran the classic for us and done an excellent job.

Membership/Registration: Membership is now due anyone wishing to use our facilities must be fully registered member as per insurance goverence from Croke Park. So anyone using our walking track during the year, any classes in the hall in the community centre or the handball or squash alleys must be a member. The rates are as follows €30 per adult or anyone under 17 €15. If you wish to become a member please contact Club Treasurers Rosemary Johnston or Debbie Mc Ardle as soon as possible.

 

Ladies Committee: The Aughnamullen Ladies Committee are urgently seeking new chairperson and would appreciate if parents would let their name go forward. If you know of anyone interested to contact secretary Annie on 0873238441. Also they are looking for interest for anyone to take over the U16 Ladies team for 2019.

 

Sympathy: Sympathy is extended to the Flanagan Family Tullynamalroe & Duffy Family Benmore & extended Mc Ardle family on the death of Brigid Mc Ardle formerly of Lattonfaskey may god have mercy on her soul. To the Forde family Laggan on the death of their aunt Eileen Callan Lisdoonan may god have mercy on her soul. Also to Andrew & Aaron Forde 2 juvenile players with our club on the death of their grandfather Andy Forde Co Mayo may god have mercy on his soul.

 

Aughnamullen GAA Lights Up: Aughnamullen Lights Up continue this Thursday night(tonight)  between 7 and 9pm. Everyone regardless of their fitness levels or their age are welcome to participate and you can walk whatever distance or for whatever length of time suits you. A register of participants each week will be sent to the RTE program and a number of clubs will be chosen each week for recording and transmission of their activities.

 

Aughnamullen Fitness Centre Teen Camp: Aughnamullen Fitness Centre Teen Camp continues in the Fitness Centre this Sat. morning at 9-30am. The Camp is for 12 to 15 year olds. Please note that it is open to boys and girls of this age group.

 

Lough Egish Rod & Gun Club: The Lough Egish Rod & Gun Club have organised the installation of a defibrillator at Loughmourne National school. Defibrillator Training Course next Wed 30th Jan.  The course runs for 3 hours from 7.30pm until 10.30pm in Loughmourne N.S. Anyone from the parish or working in the area interested in learning to use a defibrillator or in need of a refresher course please text Joe Gilliland on 0868959815 as soon as possible. In the event of there being more people interested than places available, then a first come, first served principle will apply. The Gun Club will subsidise the course costs and only ask for a €5 donation from each participant. This has only been possible with the goodwill of the parish and National School and everyone who supported the game night in 2018 including the sponsors, those who attended and especially all the farmers in our area. Thank you all for your continued support.

 

 

Data Protection: In conjunction with Data Protection rules governing GAA if any member or parent of child wish that they do not their name be included in club notes or photographs on clubs social media can they contact the club as soon as possible thank you.

 

 

First Communion/ Confirmation: With First Holy communion on the 11th May and Sacrament of Confirmation on the 19th May Aughnamullen Social Centre are awarding special packages for families for meals and entertainment on these dates.  For further details contact  Club Chairman Paddy Markey on 0876839256 Club Secretary Ann Blanche on 0834191986 or the Social Centre on 0429745626 after 8pm.

 

Date for your Diary: On Easter weekend the very popular Lee Matthews will provide music in the Social Centre more details later

 

Coaching Course: Our Lady's Secondary School Castleblayney are hosting a coaching conference this Saturday the 26th of January with coaching workshops by Conor Laverty & Colm Nally along with former Dublin Team Manager Mickey Whelan.
