Seneschalstown ladies went under to current county Champions Dunshaughlin Royal Gaels in the Kepak Senior Ladies Group B round 3 encounter in Dunshaughlin.
Playing with the breeze in the first half, the home side opened the scoring with a point in the 3rd minute and continued to dominate on the scoreboard with regular point contributions from play and frees. The home side had a good chance of a goal, but Seneschalstown keeper Louise Coyle did superbly to save from point blank range. It took the visitors 25 minutes to get off the mark with a superb point from play from Susan Finegan after a fine run down the left and this followed with a minute with a free from Anna Donnelly. However, the home team rattled off 4 points on the run-in to half time to lead 0-11 t 0-2 at the break.
Now playing with the wind behind their back f or the second period, Seneschalstown got off to the worst possible start with the concession of a fortuitous goal. Anna Donnelly cut the deficit with 2 points in a row in the 33rd and 36th minutes. The home team responded with another point on 39 minutes. Three points in a row from Stacey Grimes (2) and Orla Finnegan between the 40th and 48th minutes were undone by the concession of a second goal in the 49th minute. Grimes tagged on her third point of the second half with 2 minutes or normal time remaining to be followed up with Orla Finnegans 2nd point of the night almost immediately.
Next up for the ladies is a home quatre final against Donaghmore Ashbourne which is fixed for Saturday Sept 13that 7pm.
