Regional Football Championship

The Regional Football Championship shall be played under a tournament format.

In 2023, the following are the eight regional teams:

An Abhainn Dubh - Blackwater: Carnaross, Drumbaragh, Kilmainham, Moynalty, St Michael’s

An Tuaisceart - The North: Drumconrath, Castletown, Kilmainhamwood, Meath Hill, Nobber

Ard Breacain - Ardbraccan: Dunderry, Cortown, O’Mahony’s, St Ultan’s

Brú na Bóinne - Valley of the Boyne: Duleek/Bellewstown, Eastern Gaels, St Mary’s, St Patrick’s, St Vincent’s

Gleann na Bóinne - Boyne Valley: Rathkenny, Slane, Syddan, Walterstown, (Moynalvey for 2023 only)

Loch Craobh - Lough Crew:  Ballinlough, Moylagh, Oldcastle, St Brigid’s

Maigh Fionnráithe - Moyfenragh: Ballivor, Boardsmill, Clann na Gael, Clonard, Longwood

Teamhair - Tara: Bective, Blackhall Gaels, Dunsany, Kilbride, St Paul’s

The eight teams entered will be drawn into two groups of four to play on a round robin basis.

Each team shall have a home game, an away game, and a game played at a venue decided by the C.C.C..

The top two teams in each group qualify for the semi-finals as follows: a. Semi-Final 1: A1 v B2 b. Semi-Final 2: B1 v A2

The County Committee has the authority to make amendments to regional teams as necessary.

The regional team with the 2023 IFC champions shall be allocated the team relegated from the 2023 SFC into their region

Players eligible to play in the U-19 Football Championship in the 2023 competition year are not allowed to play in the 2023 Regional Football Championship until their U-19 Football Championship team exits the competition.
