Royal 20's set for Clonguish

Meath Under 20 manager John McCarthy

The Leinster Under 20 football championship gets up and running tomorrow night with five first round clashes around the province.

John McCarthy takes his troops to Clonguish to take on Longford. The Royals were lucky to escape from Pearse Park last year with a narrow victory and advance to the semi final.

The new format this year sees Meath in a group that also includes Carlow and Laois.

Meath’s preparations have been good with some impressive displays in the Leo Murphy Cup. After an opening round draw with Tyrone, the Royals defeated Down and Antrim to qualify for a final place against Mayo.

Throw in tomorrow night at the Longford venue is at 7.30.

Fixtures:

Round 1: Longford v Meath, Tuesday March 21st at 19:30 in Clonguish.

Round 2: Meath v Carlow, Tuesday March 28th at 19:30 in Ashbourne.

Round 3: Laois v Meath, Tuesday April 4th at 19:30 in a Laois venue.
