It is with deep reegret that we bring you news regarding the passing of a great Seneschalstown Stalwart, Pat Carey.
Pat was involved with the Yellow Furze club for years and as a budding star lined out at right half back on the team which captured the Meath Junior B Championship title in 1973.
A flying, clever and accurate forward he progressed to the ''Furze'' premier combination, operating at number 15 against Summerhill in the senior county final of 1986 in Kells.
Pat Carey later became involved as a manager. He coached Seneschalstown for a number of years and led Ballivor to the 2002 Meath Intermediate Championship. O Mahonys were beaten in a dramatic finish.
The Seneschalstown and Ballivor clubs remembered their past player, manager and friend on the Facebook pages.

Seneschalstown GFC are saddened to hear the news of the passing of club stalwart Pat Carey.
Pat served the club with great distinction as a player and trainer. Pat was one of 3 Kerry men on the Junior B Championship winning team in 1973. Pat played at right half back in the final.
He was also the trainer of the Junior A team beaten in the final by St Michael's in early 1980’s.

He also played in the 1986 Senior Championship Final v Summerhill in Kells. He went on to be senior team trainer after that for a number of years.
In his playing days, Pat also donned the green jersey of Meath for a short while.
Pat led Ballivor to the Senior ranks by beating Navan O’Mahony’s in the 2002 Intermediate Football Championship Final.
In latter years, Pat could regularly be seen taking the short trip across the field in front of his house to watch various Seneschalstown teams in action.
Reposing at St. Joseph's Chapel of Rest Old, Johnstown, Navan (C15 C425) on Tuesday from 5pm to 8pm. A Funeral Service will take place in St. Joseph's Chapel of Rest on Tuesday evening at 7:30pm. Removal on Wednesday morning at 11am to arrive to Yellow Furze Cemetery for burial at 11:30am.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death of Pat Carey, Navan.
Pat was a former Trainer with our Club and he led us to Intermediate Success in 2002 when we won the Intermediate Final against Navan O'Mahonys.
We offer our deepest sympathy to all of Pat's Family and relatives.
