All Ireland MFC semi final: End of the road for Royals

Meath’s journey in the 2020 All Ireland Minor Football Championship came to an end today at the hands of a very good Derry side in Pairc Esler Newry.

In a low scoring first half the teams went in at the break level 0-4 each. A goal from Meath captain Eoghan Frayne 4 minutes in to the second half put his side 1-4 to 0-5 in front

Some excellent points from Derry pushed them 0-9 to 1-5 ahead before the games crucial score arrived, a goal from Dan Higgins to put Derry in control and they pushed on to win with ease.

Derry scorers: M Downey 0-8, D Higgins 1-0, M Doherty 0-2, J McDermott 0-1, C Shiels 0-1, C Diamond 0-1, L Murray 0-1

Meath scorers: Eoghan Frayne 1-1 Adam McDonnell 0-2, Ruairi Kinsella, Sean Emmanuel, John McDonagh and Liam Stafford 0-1 each
