Euro Million Fundraiser for Meath GAA

April 13, 2021

Covid-19 has had a major effect on all aspects of life since March 2020, especially fundraising for all types of organisations including Meath GAA.

Meath GAA has launched a major fundraiser in an effort to offset the shortfall in finances due to the pandemic, with all funds generated going towards the running of competitions and intercounty teams.

The Euro Millions fundraiser is targeted to support the daily running costs of club competitions, intercounty football and hurling teams.

Covid-19 has had a major effect on all aspects of life since March 2020, especially fundraising for all types of organisations including Meath GAA.

To date the county has lost a number of annual fundraising events such as the Fairyhouse Race Day and the Knightsbrook Golf Classic in 2020, and most likely 2021 as well. The entry fee to join the Euro Millions draw €500.

The syndicate will participate in the Euro Millions and Euro Millions Plus draws which have many categories of winners in addition to a jackpot that varies between €15 million and €200 million.

Meath GAA will purchase 100 lines in each Euro Millions draw including Plus on Tuesdays and Fridays for 52 weeks, starting this July.

The 100 lines of numbers to be entered will be selected in advance by Quick Pick and will remain the same for the 52 weeks.

They will be circulated to each member of the syndicate along with a certificate of membership. All winnings will be shared out equally among members at the end of every quarter.

To be a member of the syndicate is €500 and members must be a minimum of 18 years old. Committee decisions will be final.

In the event of a jackpot win, 10% of the jackpot will be retained exclusively for the Páirc Tailteann Development Fund.

Membership is limited to a maximum of 400 tickets.

Membership can be purchased through clubs, committee members, the offices in Dunganny and online at www.meath.gaa.ie
