Meath's Colm Ó Mealoid

Clubforce® are pleased to announce that former Meath intercounty hurler Colm O'Mealoid has joined the company as a business development executive with responsibility for developing and maintaining relationships with GAA clubs and other sports clubs in the Leinster region.

Originally qualifying and working as a solicitor in Dublin, Colm has spent the last six years working in the sports industry. Colm lived in Switzerland for three years where he worked for the International Olympic Committee in the business and legal affairs team. In 2017, he returned to Ireland to work with Sportego, the data-driven fan engagement startup. Colm has masters in sports management and recently completed the executive MBA programme in DCU, receiving a full scholarship from the Gaelic Players Association.

Colm is a keen sportsman and played hurling for county Meath, winning a Christy Ring medal in 2019.

His role will focus on helping club volunteers leverage the full range of features of the Clubforce platform to reduce the administrative burden, facilitate collaboration and increase revenue generation.

“Clubforce provide a great service to thousands of clubs, simplifying the many tasks that demand the time of volunteers while also helping them increase revenue, which, now more than ever, is vitally important to clubs around the country. The team share a great collective vision of how they can deliver a great service to current and future clients and I’m excited to be part of it,” Colm commented on his recent appointment.

Speaking on the appointment Clubforce CMO Paul Madden said:

“Colm brings considerable experience in sports administration and data-driven decision-making to the Clubforce team and will be a valuable asset to clubs using the Clubforce platform. He has an obvious passion for sport - particularly Gaelic games - and a record of achievement on and off the field. We believe Colm's knowledge of sport and his strategic outlook will help us to elevate the service we provide to sports clubs and their volunteers.”

Colm's appointment coincides with considerable investment in the Clubforce platform culminating in a significant rollout of system enhancements to be delivered over the course of the next six months. The company has also recently recruited four additional IT and support staff following a surge in demand for the club management system, bringing the company's workforce to twenty.
