The late Greg Hogge

We are so sorry to relay to readers news about the death of Greg Hogge.

So young and so popular, Greg passed on to pastures much greener on Wednesday evening.

In recent times his family were synonymous with the Bective club. Indeed Greg was a star keeper in those famous Division Three League final encounters with Meath Hill during 2018. He was also noted as an excellent outfield player and was part of the Bective squad which swept to Meath Junior Championship honours in 2016.

His brother Brian likewise pulled on the green and white of the Navan parish unit. Their father, Pat also acted as a very efficient and much liked club official and mentor at the turn of the Millennium. Back then as a young child Greg accompanied his father to every game and training session, so it was no surprise that Greg went on to wear the Bective colours with such pride.

Pat earlier and capably performed the Chairman's role for neighbours Simonstown in the early 1990's when the North Navan side were beginning to move up the ranks of Meath club football.

Our most sincerest sympathies to all Greg's family, girlfriend Aisling, friends and teammates.

Ar dheis De go raibh a anam dilis.

Funeral details - Reposing at his home from 2pm to 8pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Removal on Monday morning at 9:15am to arrive in St. Mary’s Church, Navan for Funeral Mass at 10am. Burial afterwards in Cannistown Cemetery.
