im the same i think this has to be the most modern and professional management team ever in meath including sean in that, it might be a case of getting the team set up and finding a style of play which might not be in place in time for league but div 3 could be a nice place to build a team from and get confidnce winning matches

Why are some people saying it would be good for Meath to go down to divison 3?How is getting relegated good for us?I expect us to stay up at least and with a bit of luck be up in the places for the All Ireland series. Many on here said if we go down o Rourke should go but he kept us up.It is an evenly matched division and we shouldn't fear anyone. We have a new Managerbut so do Westmeath and Monaghan.New rules but the same for all teams.Going down will not make us better but probably make players walk away easier and make less people to go and support the team hence we are in a poorer state.

Div 3 is a nice place for year 1 of a management team, but not for year 2. It could work well for Kildare this year, for instance. And even then they'll be reliant on luck to avoid a second year of TC football. But if Meath went down that would mean 2 out of 3 seasons, likely 3 out of 4 seasons, playing tier 2 championship football. Young players don't develop that way.

Not everyone has the football intelligence of me and you proud royal, also I suspect some of them are fishing.

Proudroyal for years I always heard the same thing about Louth. The only way you are gonna improve is to be dining at the top table. Take Monaghan for example. Small county with a small population. They were in Division 1 for 10 years. In that time they had won a few Ulster titles.

No sign online of the challenge matches Meath have scheduled for this month. Will they all be behind closed doors? Will supporters get to see them in action before the Cork match?

About 7/8 players have departed Cork footballers for various reasons.Weather looks like it will play big part in any warm up games.

The GPA would want to have a good hard look at themselves. Imposing a ban that teams can't train until the middle of December and a no contact November rule, and as a result having the pre season Cup competitions cancelled for 2025. Every team in the country has been back training at full tilt since November and are now organising friendlies that the public can't see. How the GAA stood over this, especially with new rules coming into effect, is a disgrace.

Flynn on panel and Gray injury wasn't as serious as it looked at the time. There was fear he injured his knee but was just a calf strain.

Replying To Royalblufill:  "It looks like it will be a tough enough Division 2 campaign - 3 home games and 4 away games (Louth in Inniskeen) - 2 of the 3 home games are against arguably the strongest teams, Monaghan and Roscommon!

Mind you, none of the games will be easy - Cork away as an opener will be tough - especially if Cork are in the right head space!

Will likely need 3 wins to stay in Division 2 and a bit more than that to get into the All Ireland proper! I haven't even begun to think about how the new rules will be for us!
