Dunsany also had a similar big win against Kilbride last year but couldn't hit a barn door against Vincent's in the semi final. You could make solid cases for any of the remaining teams in the Junior to win.

Final between St. Vincent's and Dunsany fixed for this Saturday. Should be a close affair based on the last couple of years. Both teams have lost finals in recent years so have the experience of been there.

Quite a while since Dunsany were in a final I'd have thought.
Although they surprisingly demolished Carnaross in the semi, the fact that Vincents have contested two of the last three finals and are the most consistent team in the grade for a while now, I'd expect them to get over the line this time.

Congrats to Vincent's. Didn't see the game but the scoreline suggests a similar game to last years semi final where Dunsany just couldn't manage to break down Vincent's defence.
That's 6 junior finals that Dunsany have lost. You'd have to think that they'll not get a better chance than yesterday.

Yes the ref didn't play 22 seconds extra that he should have but dunsany we're not on the attack.
Vincents had the ball in possession and dunsany weren't even making a challenge to try get the ball back.

Dunsany had there chances to win and if they took them they could have won by 10 + points .. 7 frees wide in the first half and missed 2 goal chances.

This was there chance this year and still couldn't manage, purely the fact that there big game players never showed up , harkin fox smith nowhere to be seen.

Would it be fair to say that junior a football is now at the standard junior b was say 4 years ago?
There was a time we had really strong teams winning junior in meath and going on to do well in leinster.
What exactly has the changes with this premier champ rubbish done to improve the first teams?
I watched a few junior games this year include the dross saturday and i dont think its ever been so poor.
The teams relegated from inter will get some shock next year.

Vincents were deserved winners. Dunsany besides fullback line and smith had v little go forward movement.
Vincents were well organized and couple nice footballers,, Dunsany had 10 plus lads have v quiet games. so can't be any complaining.

To be fair, the last time there was a Leinster club championship in 2019, Clann na nGael were beaten in the Leinster final by a point. The team that beat them (the Wexford champions) made it to the All Ireland final. Vincent's competed in the 2018 Leinster championship as runners up to Dunboyne's second team but were knocked out at the first hurdle. This year they'll be up against Glen Emmetts of Louth in Leinster.
I do agree that the quality of the Junior championship has diminished from the heights of the 2000s-early 2010s. Looking back, the Meath champions won the Leinster Junior championship in 8 out of 10 seasons from 2002 - 2011. I'd be hopeful that with three teams going down from Intermediate this season and next season, that'll help bring the quality up.
