Beat Dunboyne, Ratoath and Kells in the knock outs stages to win it. Any team doing that given those teams records in recent seasons fully deserves to win a county championship."
Drew with Kells in the groups. Beat Na Fianna in the quarter finals. And also bear Simonstown in the group. All champions from the past 5 years were beaten by Wolfe Tones this season. Spectacularly bad take by the previous poster. If they're and "average" side, then what does that say about every other team this year. They defied the odds and are deserving champions.

Looking some nibbles I'd say. And got one. Tones won the championship the hard way. 100% fully deserved it.

They Drew with kells missing a few they got by Ratoath missing 4 of there best players Na Fianna are a poor senior side honest to god worst team in the quarters, and then Dunboyne just have no bottle like it was a lucky championship and fact tones won it shows how poor how standard of senior championship is happy see them do it as a proud north meath man from Nobber but it's worrying for the standard of Meath football

I think you are mistaking me for the poster head4theblackspot who wrote that post about Tones. If you are not you may want to go back and look and my previous posts. I said on numerous occasions that Tones fully deserved their win and that i really like Wolf Tones as a club so either you mistook me for the other poster or you are way off in your assesment of me.

Replying To Head4TheBlackSpot:  "Anyone else sickened Tones won this Championship as they are a very average side who got so lucky this year in what will go down as one of worst standards of senior championship I have seen in the last 45 Years"
I wouldn't say I was sickened they won it but they were probably the worst team to win it in the last 20 years. They did beat the big teams but played them at the right time with these teams missing big players. They were well bet in the two Feis Cup finals and this is a closer reflection of their level. I would still rank them fourth of fifth best team in Meath.

The senior championship decides the best team in the respective counties in any individual year and it is not decided on by opinion. I expect that the Tones are not very interested in the Leinster club considering what the've just won. I do wish them well in the Leinster as I would do with all teams but bear in mind that they will be competing against a club who have a bigger pick than quite a few county teams.

It doesn't really matter where individuals rank Tones, they won the Senior championship and that is all that matters really, they didn't rob a win at any stage with last minute goals or lucky scores (Goal in Armagh final as example) , Kells won a number of Feis cups but some people dismissed that, now some are referencing Tones Feis cup form as a barometer of where they are at.....note their record against Dunboyne/Ratoath is exceptional, they never fear the so called "big" teams and will be in the hunt for next few years so some could be very sick for a while

100% agreed . I'm sure people from Tones will care very little where people rank them . They have the Keegan cup that proves they were the best team in 2021 and also have wins v Ratoath Dunboyne and Simonstown so certainly did not get it handy.

That's the ironic thing! The double standards here: Kells win Feis Cups but miss out on the Keegan Cip due to a last minute goal and that proves they're poor. Tones win the Keegan Cup but lose the Feis Cup final and that somehow also means they're poor!
Tones have been the best team in the county this year. Anyone who says otherwise is being bitter.

I fully agree with you here. The Tones made 3 finals this year, winning the important one. They defeated all comers and drew with us. To have people come on here and say they were lucky are stupid and ignorant. They pointed out that Kells, Ratoath, Simonstown and Dunboyne had all injuries. Well didn't the Tones also have injuries, They were without Eanna Harrington all year, also Eanna O' Kelly, and Fiachra Ward. I heard they started the semi final and final with 3 lads carrying hamstring injuries and were also without Brook Finnegan for both games. Give credit where it's due.
Someone said it's the worst championship in 25 years I can remember worst.

Tones are gonna make a mockery of Meath Club football in Leinster save this and come back to it

I think either of Ratoath and Summerhill will give Leinster a decent run this year!

Wholly inaccurate. It was by players vote. Not management. Why lie ? This is widely known.
