Looking up random things happened upon this clip of Meath v Dublin in the 1974 Leinster Championship. And Meath are wearing what cam only be described as an inverted Brazil Kit. Green shirts BLUE shorts and yellow socks!
Has anyone any idea when they changed to blue shorts and how long did it last? Very strange kit combination to say the least!
And have Meath played in any other odd kit combinations?

I had seen black and white team photos of this kit before but always assumed (wrongly I see now) the shorts were green. I have heard from a guy talking in the pub that when the GAA was starting out Meath would have picked sky blue jerseys only Dublin picked them first. The reason being was suspossed to be that sky blue was associated with ancient Tara. Anyone know is there any truth to this ?
