FL Div 4: Ballivor move in to third position

Ballivor finished strongly to see off St Marys in this Round 10 Division 4 All County League game played in Ballivor. The winners moved in to 3rd position in the league, 1 point off the leaders Kilmainhamwood.

Whilst St.Marys were the first to score in this game with a point on the 8th minute, Joe McLaughlin put Ballivor on the scoreboard with a pt on the 9th minute.

The sides then exchanged points on the 11th and 12th min (Thomas Raleigh) for Ballivor followed by a Kevin McKeon point on the 16th minute.

Scores got a little scarce for the next 7 minutes in which Ballivor missed at least 2 goal chances. with one of these richoceeing off both uprights and back out onto the field of play.

St. Marys added a further 2 points before half time while points from Kevin McKeon (2) Killian Canavan (1) and Gary Watters (2) gave Ballivor the edge at half time on a score of Ballivor 0-8 St Marys 0-4

The teams exchanged 2 points each in the first 14 minutes of the second half (Kevin McKeon for Ballivor ) but then Ballivor started to pull away.

Points from Killian Canavan, Kevin McKeon and Paddy Connelly gave them Ballivor a 7pt lead with 21 mins gone.

St. Marys replied with 3pts before full time but Ballivor finished very strong and added 2-2 before full time (points from Raymond McKeown and Kevin Kelly and a goal apiece from Paul Kelly and Brendan McKeon.
