A tight first half saw the Tones team go in 2 points down at half time in this entertaining round 2, division 6 championship match, 1-8 to 1-6. Donaghmore /Ashbourne’s goal coming by way of penalty.
The Tones team came out with a sharper focus and more direct play in the second half and a wonder goal from the lively Laochra Ó Fionnagáin helped them to a 2-18 to 1-10 victory.
A strong group performance was witnessed, with Gavin Brady, Joe Smith and Rossa McDonnell to the fore.
