2025 JFC winners St. Colmcilles made a winning start to the Intermediate Football Championship
The opening round of the Meath LGFA Senior, Intermediate and Junior Football Championship is complete.
Friday: Oldcastle made a winning start to their senior campaign with two points to spare over Dee Rangers at Millbrook. The winners led 0-3 to 0-2 at the break. There were winning starts for Walterstown and last years Junior A champions St. Colmcilles in the Intermediate while Ratoath were too strong for neighbours Kilbride in the Junior.

Thursday: Seneschalstown got their senior championship Group B campaign off to a winning start with eight points to spare over last year’s Intermediate winners Skryne at home.
In the Intermediate Na Fianna recorded a big win away to Simonstown. The visitors led 3-9 to 1-7 at the break.
St. Pats journey back to the Junior decider began with a win away win over Dunboyne B. Dunshaughlin Royal Gaels B’s completed a great couple of days for the club with a comfortable win over Clann na nGael.

Wednesday: Holders Dunshaughlin Royal Gaels made a great start in their quest for a four in a row against Donaghmore Ashbourne on Pitch 2 at Dunshaughlin. Bronagh Sheridan and Niamh O’Sullivan were outstanding as the Black & Ambers opened up a 1-19 to 0-0 interval lead. Last years finalists Dunboyne had two goals to spare over O’Mahony’s at Kepak Park. St. Peters were two points, 1-6 to 1-8, in arrears at the break.
Division 2 league winners Boardsmill had five to spare over last years finalists St. Ultans in the opening round of the Intermediate.
Moynalvey got their junior campaign up and running with a goal tom spare over Trim at Kilmore Park. The home side led 1-7 to 1-4 at the break. Jennifer McLoughlin gave Moynalvey a great start with a goal in the opening minute, Aoife O’Shea netted their crucial second at the end of the third quarter.
