The finals of the U16 Gerry Reilly Football Tournament take place in Oldcastle this weekend with 2 exciting finals to look forward too. Cavan and Meath will compete in the Gerry Reilly Cup final after impressive wins over Offaly and Tyrone in the semi-finals. 

Meath were really impressive in their 3-20 to 0-14 win over the Tyrone and will have a number of U17 players on show who represented Meath in the Leinster Minor Final earlier in the year. 

In the other semi-final Cavan showed all their battling qualities and skills to record an impressive extra time win over Offaly on a scoreline of 2-22 to 3-10 win. With both teams coming into final in good form, it promises to be a great game of football between both counties. The U16 Cavan Management team includes Aogan Farrell, Levi Murphy and Paul Woods while the Meath Management includes Paul McManus, Barry Moyles, Gareth Dooley, Paul Sheehy, Paul Nestor and James Brennan. 

The young Royals last won the Gerry Reilly Cup in 2019, beating Dublin 2-11 to 2-10 in a very exciting final. Paul McManus' charges wioll be hoping to build on their Tedd Webb Shield final over Dublin on Wednesday.

The Gerry Reilly Shield Final will take place on the Saturday in Millbrook with Louth and Clare taking to the field in again what promises to be a great game.

Oldcastle GFC host the Gerry Reilly Tournament annually at their Millbrook pitch, in memory of the late Gerry Reilly, a promising footballer who tragically died all too young.
