
Nobber 3 – 9 (18) Dunsany 3 – 15 (24)
Nobber’s second string side made the trip to Dunsany on the May Bank Holiday Monday evening last for their A League Division 11 Round 4 fixture.
An ideal evening weatherwise for football where spectators were treated to an entertaining game between the two sides. Little separated the sides in the first half with the black and ambers shooting into the clubhouse end of the grounds. Joe Tierney was lively in the inside corner as well as the legendary figure of Gavin Dizzy Farrelly on the edge of the square. Both sides traded scores throughout the first half with half forward Jamie Duffy scoring an impressive goal for the North Meath men. Nobber led by the minimum at the break.

The third quarter proved a tight affair with a good midfield battle taking place between the youthful Nobber duo of Eoin Larkin and Korede Otubango. Some spectators compared Larkin’s height to that of the legendary England soccer star Peter Crouch while Otubango complimented him well with his pace and ball handling skills setting up Nobber’s attacks throughout. Tierney finished well to the back of the net to the delight of the Nobber support. The black and ambers raised another green flag, and it was Dynamo Duffy inside finished coolly to the back of the net. The Dunsany defence were certainly dizzy trying to contain Gavin Farrelly inside. The final quarter proved decisive in the outcome of the game. Dunsany in truth looked more dangerous in attack and took their scoring chances in comparison to their opponents. The Nobber defence battled hard throughout the game and showed a good attitude.
Plenty for the team and management to work on for their next fixture against Moylagh on Friday, May 15.
