Castletown 3-18 Drumbaragh 2-13
Castletown progressed to the IFC semi-final for the second year in a row and a date with title favourites Moynalvey in two weeks time.
The eventual winners got of to a great start and were 2-4 to the good before Drumbaragh had their opening point on 17 minutes. Castletown went on to record 3-11 in the first half to Drumbaragh's 0-2. Castletown scorers in that period were Darragh Weldon with 2-0, Rian McConnell 0-5, Adam Matthews 1-1, Kevin Ross 0-3 and one point each for Declan Cribbin and Sean McKeown.
If Castletown had it easy in the first half Drumbaragh had other ideas in the second with their substitutions providing a threat going forward and they closed down on the Castletown marksmen. Also the lack of Castletown pass accuracy in the final third could have caused their downfall. However with the score amount from the opening period and seven more points in the second Castletown held on to register an 8 points victory. Castletown second half scorers were William Bellew 0-2 and points for Matthews, Ross, McConnell, Weldon and second half substitute Mark Kelly.
