Clann na nGael 4-17 Dunderry 0-12
Clann na nGael and Dunderry took to Seán Newman park for this Junior Football Championship quarter final.
Seán Brennan was first to score with a trademark two pointer free. From the resulting kick out the Athboy/ Rathcairn outfit netted thier first goal when the ball was swept in past Brennan. Adam Kelly restored parity next with a point from play. A CNG free was cancelled out by Ciarán Sheridan before they really took hold of the game hitting us for 1-2 until Brennan slotted over another two pointer. Four more from play to our one from Kelly had the writing on the wall heading into the dressing room. 0-7 against 2-7.
Instead of Dunderry getting the first score of the second half we coughed up 1-2 before a free from Kelly on 15 minutes. He backed that up with another one next before the opposition landed 1-5. Kelly with a free and a point each from substitute Rian Liggan and Ciarán Sheridan was as good as it got for Turleys men. The Clanns struck over another brace to leave 17 between the neighbours on full time.
Not a good morning for the lads but there is always next year. Possession was plentiful and the Gaels have Eoin Griffin to thank with a man of the match performance between the posts.
