SHC: Kilmessan stun Trim again and advance to semi final

Kilmessan advanced to the last four of the Meath senior hurling championship as group winners with this well deserved victory over a fancied Trim side at Pairc Tailteann. These two meet in round 4 of last years championship and Nickey Horan’s men recorded a 4-14 to 1-19 victory.

There were no goals in the most recent encounter but the standard of point taking was from the top drawer. Playing with the wind Seanie Doyle, Malcolm Doyle, Luke Horan, Kyle Donnelly, Cian O’Sullivan and Mark Horan got in on the scoring act as a very impressive Kilmessan led 0-15 to 0-9 at half time. 

Now with the elements Trim came out a different team and the sides were level after ten minutes. Trim held the advantage with eight minutes remaining but 5 points without reply from Luke Horan, Seanie Doyle, Lorcan Byrne and Kris Gorman sealed another memorable win for Kilmessan.

The winners await Kiltale or Na Fianna in the semi final.
