Boardsmill, however, were quick to reply, rattling off three unanswered points to regain momentum, Moynalty struck back in the 14th minute when Bryan McCormack scored their second goal, appearing to put them in control of the game.

HT Score: Moynalty 2-04, Boardsmill 1-07
The second half began in spectacular fashion for Moynalty, with Johnny Lynch landing a monster two- pointer inside the opening two minutes. Points from Jude Gilsenan and Bryan McCormack followed, and Moynalty looked to be gaining control over their opponents with more possession and becoming more composed on the ball.
Boardsmill continued with their aggressive approach competing for every ball, managed to close the gap with a long-range point. Paddy Byrne’s tireless work was rewarded with another point in the 15th minute, but the pendulum swung again toward Boardsmill, who fired over three well-taken points to narrow the deficit. Moynalty then lost Bryan McCormack, forced off with injury. Cormac Kearney replaced him in a more defensive role, this however left Moynalty looking light up front. Despite this, Paddy Byrne was fouled just outside the scoring zone, and Johnny Lynch calmly converted a crucial point from distance to extend Moynalty’s lead. Another point from Byrne followed, but Boardsmill never gave up. A strong frontal challenge on Richie Gilsenan saw him replaced by Jake Smyth, and with Dylan Farrelly dropping deeper into defence. Moynalty began to look vulnerable, and when penalised for only having two players up front, Boardsmill calmly slotted a two-pointer to reduce the gap to just two points.
Deep in injury time, Boardsmill worked a ball from the right, playing a one-two with their corner forward before fisting it across the square. The incoming forward somehow blasted it goalwards, but it went just over the bar, and moments later the final whistle sounded to the relief of Moynalty supporters.
