The late Willie Govern

Sad to report the passing of Willie Govern.

Willie gave decades of service as county board delegate, former Meath minor and junior selector, umpire with Joey Curley, mentor to countless underage and adult teams, and as the driving force behind our fundraising and lotto.

Moynalty paid tribute to their President and lifelong supporter on social media.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved club stalwart, Willie Govern.

Willie was more than just a dedicated member of our club. He was the heart and soul of our community. His unwavering commitment and tireless support over the years left a lasting impact on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Whether it was coaching or selling Lotto tickets or sharing a warm word with friends and colleagues, Willie’s presence made our club a better place. His legacy will live on in the memories we cherish and the traditions he helped build.

Our deepest condolences go out to his loving wife Breda, sons Barry, Paul, Liam, Thomas, and their extended family.
