Navan O’Mahonys 4-17 Drumbaragh Emmets 1-12
Great football displayed by the Junior B ladies in Round 1 of the championship against Drumbaragh Emmets tonight out at the Drumbaragh pitch.
Jorja Keogh and Caoimhe Mulchrone got the team off to a fantastic start, scoring a point each, followed by a goal from Keogh inside the first 5 minutes. Drumbaragh scored a point from a free which was closely returned by a point from Erin Moore also from a free. Keogh scored a second goal. Drumbaragh go on to score 2 points from play and a goal from a penalty. Keogh completed the hatrick with a third goal from play and putting O’Mahonys firmly in the lead. Points continued to fly over the bar from play, with 2 from Sophie Brady, 1 from Mulchrome and 1 from Keogh. Moore converted a further 2 frees putting O’Mahonys comfortably in the lead going into half time.

Drumbaragh got the second half started with a point but not without being closely followed by Keogh and Brady scoring a point a piece. After 2 scores from frees Brady, Keogh and Saidhbh Byrne fought back with a score each from play. The O’Mahony’s defence had an affective presence on the pitch including Lauren Patterson with some great saves on the goal line. Byrne, Mulchone and Brady continued popping them over the bar. Moore kept up the brilliant standard of free kicks scoring another 2 in the second half.
