Kildalkey 4-25 Clann na nGael 2-10
Kildalkey are top of Group A in the Meath Senior Hurling championship on score difference after recording this big win over neighbours Clann na nGael in the third game of the day at Lomans Park Trim. Nick Fitzgerald’s men have scored 6-49 in their opening two games.
Conor Fitzgerald got the scoreboard working with a goal. Niall McNally, Evan Fitzgerald, Brian O’Halloran and Paddy Conneely added points as the Village dominated. Clann na nGael hit back with 1-2 before Kildalkey hit another purple patch. Unanswered points from Kelvin Lynch, Paddy Conneely (4) and O’Halloran (2) put Kildalkey in a comfortable position at the break, 1-14 to 1-5.
The 2023 champions led 1-22 to 2-10 as the game entered the last eight minutes but by the full time whistle they has registered another 3-3. Conneely, Paddy Barnwell and Jamie Kavanagh with the goals to close out another comfortable win.
When these two met in last years championship Kildalkey recorded a 4-21 to 1-9 victory.
Next up for the winners are Blackhall Gaels. Clann na nGael take on Kiltale.
