Kilskyre Moylagh 4-10 Boardsmill 0-16
You often don’t know what you are going to get by way of a contest in a JHC B opening round. On paper this looked like an even contest with both clubs at Intermediate level fielding a second team with a mix of novices and seniors.
This turned out to be a cracker with free-flowing hurling where most scores came from play and notably from young James McDonnell who was on fire on Thursday evening in Kilskyre with four goals on the 24th, 32nd, 45th and 57th minutes.
All this was only made possible by Captain “Mad Dog John Harvey” who drove on the team from full back line bulling out and clearing everything inspiring his team mates to follow suit.
For Boardsmill they will be happy with everything but the result. They picked off some really fine points from play but on the day it was the goals that counted, and goals win matches.
