Kilskyre Moylagh 6-24 St Patricks 0-10
Having endured a rough 12 months with injuries and a poor start to last year’s campaign Kilskyre Moylagh were relieved to get points on the board in Kilberry.
With back-to-back loses in the opening two round in 2024 to Rathmolyon and Kildalkey ending their campaign early so a repeat of that was to be avoided at all costs. This win will give them a boast of confidence badly needed going into a tough next round v Donamore Ashbourne.
St Pat’s started the game positively but a brace of goals each from Willie McGrath and Darren O’Higgins by the 22nd minute ended this as a contest as Kilskyre Moylagh could coast from there on. These goals were well worked with contributions from match Fergal Flynn who was excellent in defence and attack all night.
For St Pat’s it was a tough day at the office, but they took stock at half time, made some changes and had a bright opening to the second off with several well taken points which would concern Kilskyre Moylagh as the weeks move on into the championship.
