Rathkenny came away from this J.M. Food Services, Football League Division 2, Round 11 game with both points last Saturday afternoon, July 5th.

Referee Martin Dawson threw up the ball with the hosts playing towards the clubhouse goals. Jeaic Timmons opened Rathkennys account within 30 seconds and by the third minute further points from Christy Meade and Adam Byrne had the hosts in control. Adam Byrne blasted to the net on seven minutes before James O’Hare and Jeaic Timmons added a couple of points to extend the lead on twelve minutes. Curraha sent over their only point of the half from a free on fifteen minutes before a goal from James O’Hare and points from Padraig McKeever and Finn Moore left the halftime score 2-7 to 0-1.

Sub Max McKenna opened Rathkennys second half account before Curraha added two points by the thirty fifth minute. Jeaic Timmons sent over for the hosts before scores from Daniel Gavagan and Max McKenna had the hosts up by fourteen points at the three- quarter stage. Rathkenny emptied the bench through the second half and added another goal from the foot of Jeaic Timmons on 48 minutes. They added five further points through Daniel Gavagan (2), Ciaran O’Hare, Jeaic Timmons and Jack Gore before the finish.
