Dunderry 2-15
St Peter's, Dunboyne 2-15
Scattered showers said the weather forecasts but downpours is what we got.
The visitors opened scoring from play. Evan Nolan equalised from placed ball followed up by a strike on the run from William Tracy. Mark Leavy made it three to one. Darragh Fay intersected the next attack, picked out his full back Coogan who delivered into Niall Darcy who made it four -one. Nolan struck his second free to make it five. Donagh Ó Laoire made it six when Barron unselfishly played to the man in the better position. The next five scores were frees. The visitors got two, to leave them on 3 points while the hosts struck three to leave them on 0-9 at the interval.
Dunboyne started better in the second half getting the first two points. Niall Darcy passed to half time substitute Jordan Martin who left it at double scores. Dunboyne got the next point. Fagans puck out was won by Liam Dempsey, he picked out Barron, he passed to Donagh Ó Laoire, he linked in with Jordan Martin who delivered into Darcy and back of the net BANG.
Another Nolan Free and one from play by Conor Sheridan had it 1-12 to 0-7 and Dunderry were cruising.
A free and one from play for Dunboyne brought them back into it and when they rattled the net themselves there was only one score in it.
A bullet off Nolans hurley proved unstoppable and green flag number two was waved by umpire supreme Mickey Casey. Great to see him back at the goalmouth albeit with more scars than any hurler out there.
A brace from Dunboyne was responded to by Jordan Martin, who doubled his tally.
The visitors found the net again and followed up with another point to leave the minimum between 1st and 2nd on the table. Mark Leavy back on as a blood sub pointed and Nolan followed up with his last free. Dunboyne however got the last few scores and ended up sharing the spoils.
