Slane 2-15 St Brigids 1-18

Tuesday 17th and Round 9 of the League away for St Brigids to Slane.

Slane started strongly and had three points on the scoreboard before Brigids first score, a goal from David Gibney had the game level after ten minutes. The lead subsequently changed hands on a few occasions during the half but it was the hosts who held the advantage at the break leading on a scoreline of 1-07 to 1-06.

St Brigids seemed to get a stronger hold in the second half and by the fiftyfifth minute had a four point advantage 1-16 to 1-12 and looked as we would hold out for the victory.

Slane had other ideas though and scored 1-03 in the next four minutes without reply but with two minutes gone in injury time Cian Blake popped up with a two pointer from play to earn a draw with the last kick of the game.

A solid result for us in what was a thoroughly enjoyable game with all our lads putting in a massive shift.
