St. Mary’s N.S. Trim 6-3 Kilmessan N.S. 1-5
For the first time since 2006 St. Mary’s Trim were crowned Meath Cumann na mBunscol Division 1 camogie champions after this win over Kilmessan in the third game of the day at Lomans Park.
The Trim school got a great start and were 2-1 to 0-1 up inside 10 minutes thanks to goals from Lexi Corkish and Aisling Canty. Kilmessan hit back with a Caragh Bynre major but before the break Corkish was in for her second goal and St. Marys went to the break 3-1 to 1-1 in front.
Kilmessan narrowed the lead with three quick points in the second half from Aoibheann Fletcher and Byrne (2) but that’s as near as they got to the Trim school. Goals from Katelyn McLoughlin, Amy Watters and Canty made sure that the Division 1 camogie title was heading to St. Mary’s for the first time in 19 years.
