St. Paul’s Ratoath 1-3 Ratoath S.N.S. 0-5

Eleven Meath Cumann na mBunscol hurling and camogie titles were up for grabs on Friday and Saturday at Lomans Park Trim.

Having won numerous football finals St. Pauls Ratoath claimed their first ever hurling title with this narrow win over neighbours Ratoath S.N.S in the Division 1/2 Shield Hurling final.

Last years Division 1 winners Ratoath SNS dominated the opening half and led 0-5 to 0-1 at the break. Captain Barra McGowan chipped in with three points while Michael Ryan and Evan Kelly also raised white flags. The second half was all about St. Pauls Jack Ducie. Holding the opposition scoreless the very talented corner forward tied up the game with a goal and a point and just when extra time seemed possible he sent over a delightful winner just before the full time whistle.
