Kilmainhamwood 1-22 Dunshaughlin 1-5
Dunshaughlin made the considerable trip to Kilmainhamwood on a balmy Sunday morning.
They were met with a Kilmainhamwood that meant business from the get go. The Wood started with a flurry of early scores via a brace of 2 pointers from Rian Stafford and 2 nicely taken frees from Aidan Roche. This put the Wood 7 points to no score up in quick time. Dunshaughlin started to work the scoreboard themselves with a hat trick of nice points to bring the deficit back to 4 points. The Wood kicked on the close out the half with nice points from Paul Carolan, Shane Townley, Daragh Smith and 2 more 2 pointer from Rian Stafford. Dunshaughlin got a goal late in the half to keep them within touching distance.
Half time Kilmainhamwood 0-14 Dunshaughlin 1-4
It was in this second half that the men in white really started to get going and started tagging on some good scores from ever green Gary Yorke and Harry Corbally. The on form Rian Stafford found himself infront and goal and in effective fashion finished with an easy tap in after going round the keeper. Shane Townley tagged on another point to his tally and Brian Cassidy put his name on the scoresheet with a nicely taken point. Rian Stafford closed out his tally for the day with another hattrick of points. Big credit must go out to the defensive unit who kept Dunshaughlin scoreless from play in the whole second half and only added one pointed free to their score from the first half.
