It took a while for Meath Hill to settle into the contest, but once they did, their composure in possession began to tell. Sheehy nudged Meath Hill in front with a point of his own, before Curraha responded to draw level again. Breslin, however, was proving a consistent threat and slotted over a free he won himself, before adding another from open play to edge the Hill ahead once more.
Curraha kept in touch with another pointed free and a neat effort from play, but it was Meath Hill who would finish the half stronger. Yorke hit his second two-pointer of the day to stretch the lead before the break —Meath Hill were reduced to 14 as Cormac Sheehy was shown red after an off-the-ball incident.
