HL Div 4: Kildalkey goals down Drumree

May 19, 2025

The Drumree team that took on Kildalkey in the Division 4 Hurling League

Kildalkey 4-10 Drumree 0-11

Drumree made the trip to Kildalkey for what turned out to be a tough outing, with the home side running out winners on a scoreline of 4-10 to 0-11. While the scoreline suggests a comfortable win for Kildalkey, it didn’t fully reflect how the game played out.

Drumree put in a solid shift and stayed competitive for large spells, but Kildalkey’s ability to find the net proved the key difference. The hosts took their chances well, particularly in front of goal, which left Drumree with a bit too much to do as the game went on.

Sean Kennedy stood out at the back for Drumree, putting in a hardworking display and showing plenty of fight. He was involved in breaking up a lot of Kildalkey’s play and never shied away from the challenge.

In the middle of the field, both Darren Lawless and Odhran O’Riordan did very well, getting on a lot of ball and keeping things moving. Up front, Jack Mahon kept Drumree ticking over with a steady hand on the frees and some nice moments of play.

Despite the result, there were positives to take for Drumree, especially in terms of work rate and attitude. They’ll be hoping to build on this performance in their next outing.
