FL Div 9: Comaskey hits four as 'Ross' move into pole position

May 14, 2025

Cillian Comaskey Carnaross

Carnaross 7-15 Donaghmore Ashbourne 3-7

Carnaross made the long trek to sunny Ashbourne a fruitful one when they ran out convincing winners over the hosts.

Cillian Comaskey impressed over the hour registering 4 goals from play, finishing off some fine moves. He even had a 5th goal disallowed for an adjudged square ball infraction. John Reilly helped himself to his customary goal to keep his fine scoring form going. In midfield Charlie Murphy and Adam Kerins faced off against two man mountains but used their legs to good avail. Charlie's second goal was a palmed effort into the roof of the net. The inch perfect pass was provided by his father, Ollie, who was sprung off the bench like a coiled spring. The hard working half forward line shared 1-6 between them as Morris bagged 4 points. Another experienced campaigner, Paddy Nugent,  who donned the green and gold of Meath helped himself to 3 points. The bomb squad were introduced in the second half with Peter Mullan marking his return with an unorthodox score. The defence worked tirelessly throughout to round off a great team performance.

That result leaves Carnaross top of Division 9 with 9 points on the board.
