Meath had 17 scorers over the four Leinster SFC games

Despite last Sunday’s defeat to Louth, Meath enjoyed their best Leinster senior football championship campaign in a number of years.

The new rules have certainly opened up the scoring responsibility. Robbie Brennan’s men had 17 scorers over the four match campaign. 

Summerhill’s Eoghan Frayne finished top of the pile on 25 points. Mathew Costello was seven points behind. The Royals captain scored in all four games and his highest tally, an impressive 11 points came in that memorable semi final win over Dublin at Portlaoise. Frayne was second in the National Football League Division 2 for the the Royals, scoring 1-36, a point behind Jordan Morris (2-34).

Meath scored an impressive 3-96 and conceded 4-70
