Seneschalstown's Eoin Finnegan

Seneschalstown 1-10 Dunshaughlin 3-13

Seneschasltown remain bottom of the P.R Coyne & Sons Football League Division 1 after county champions Dunshaughlin earned a nine point win in Fr. Tully Park on Saturday evening.

Seneschasltown started positively and kicked the opening two points of the game with Ronan Conneely getting the opener which was followed up by Robbie Finnegan’s first score of the evening. Dunshaughlin opened their account in the fifth minute. Eoin Finnegan restored Seneschasltown’s early two point advantage with a free but the winners would rattle off 1-06 unanswered in a five minute spell which included a couple of two pointers.

Robbie Finnegan put an end to that sequence with a point for the hosts before namesake Eoin scored from play. Robbie, on free taking duties from the left hand side then kicked a two point free to leave that Dunshaughlin goal in it however two further white flags left the visitors five to the good at the break.

Dunshaughlin added a quick fire 1-01 after the restart but to Seneschalstown’s credit they responded in kind almost instantly. Bryan Clarke added his name to the scoresheet before Eoin Finnegan fired in a stunning goal after a move which was started with a fantastic tackle from Conor McDonnell.

However, Seneschasltown could not build on this boost and went twenty minutes without scoring as a further 1-03 for Dunshaughlin left the margin at double digits. A couple of late scores from Alan Mulvany and substitute Joey Moore were little more than scant consolation for the hosts.
