St Ultans 2-12 Carnaross 0-9
St Ultans secured both the points thanks to a dominant first half display. Carnaross opened the scoring with a free on five minutes but would not score for the remainder of the half thanks to disciplined defending from St Ultans a fine save from keeper Keith Hennessy.
Ultans running game caused problems for the home side and Ruairi Buchanan raised six white flags and an orange one from frees. Adam Rogers hit the net twice in two minutes midway through the first half. The first came after Martin Dolan drove forward from wing back and found Rogers in behind and he rounded the keeper to finish to the net. Declan Ball turned over the ball and again found Rogers who repeated the act. Rogers followed up his brace of goals with a fine point from play too.
The second half saw Carnaross gaining more possession and narrowed the gap but points from Buchanan frees and fine efforts from play from Charlie O’Brien and substitute Tom Brennan ensured Ultans would run out victors. Next up for St Ultans is St Brigids in two weeks.
