County champions Ratoath came to Kildalkey on Saturday evening for this Division 1HL round 3 fixture but it was the hosts who emerged with the win and the 2 points.
After a disappointing display on Tuesday night in the Brendan Davis final v Kilyon the men in blue got back to winning ways and put in a much improved performance on Saturday and claimed the 2 points on offer although Ratoath were short a number of first team players and will be a different proposition come championship time.
Kildalkey held the upper hand from the start and 3 goals from the Fitzgeralds 2 from Conor and 1 from Evan pushed them into a 3-8 to 0-8 halftime With Further points from Matthew Cully (4 frees ) Paddy Coneely Evan Fitzgerald and young Edward Dunne they continued on the front foot and see out the game by 3-21 to Ratoaths 2-15
