Rathmolyon retained the Billy Byrne cup with victory over St. Peters Dunboyne. 

On a glorious evening for hurling with the Rathmolyon pitch in perfect condition the hosts got off to a perfect start with a point from Joey Christie inside the first minute.

Further scores from Cathal Regan and Daithi Regan pushed the Village further ahead, St Peters kept in touch with points from Sean Quigley narrowing the gap. Further points from Cathal Regan and Sean Howley left the score at half time Rathmolyon 0-10 St. Peters 0-4

The hosts pushed on in the second half with further points  from Arthur Doyle, Kevin Mulligan and Cathal Regan ensuring the Billy Byrne Cup stayed in Rathmolyon for the second year in a row on a scoreline of Rathmolyon 0-19 St. Peters Dunboyne 0-14
