This evening (Wednesday) sees three provincial U20 football championship finals on the schedule starting from 7pm.

First up is the Connacht U20 final between neighbours Mayo and Roscommon in Tuam, where Peadar Gardiner’s Mayo side will be looking to dethrone the Rossies of their provincial crown and clinch what would be a record extending 26th title out west.

The Leinster U20 decider sees Louth and Meath crossing swords at Cedral St Conleth’s Park in Newbridge (7.30pm) ahead of the two counties’ senior final date at Croke Park next Sunday week.

Defending champions Meath are chasing their 10th Leinster success in the U21/U20 grade and looking to emulate the result from last year which saw them defeating Louth by 3-13 to 0-12 on the same stage, denying the Wee County a first Flood Cup triumph since 1981.

In Owenbeg, Tyrone and Donegal clash for Ulster U20 honours at 7.30pm with the Red Hands looking to extend their lead at the top of the Roll of Honour list to 17 with a third title in four years.

As for Gary Boyle’s Donegal side, they’re bidding for their county’s first Irish News Cup success since 2017 in what’ll be their first U20 provincial final appearance in half a decade.
