Alan Callaghan Wolfe Tones

Gaeil Baile Shiomóin 1-9 – Bhulf Tón 3-10

De bharr taispéantas laidir sa dara leath bhí an bua ag Bhulf Tón in aghaidh Gaeil Baile Shiomóin ar an Déardaoin.

On his first appearance of the year newly married Alan Callaghan opened the scoring in the first minute with a superb point in well-appointed Simonstown pitch. A clinically finished Ben Reilly goal had the team’s level on 12 minutes at 1-2 a piece and the teams went in at half time level, 1-5 each.

Simonstown got the opening two scores of the half but a Joe Smith penalty on 43 minutes put the Tones back on top 2-5 to 1-7 and from there they never looked back. Alan Callaghan added a nice 2 pointer on 47 minutes and when Ben Reilly crashed the ball to the net on 55 minutes after nice work by Pauric Diamond & Alan Callaghan the Tones were on their way to well earned victory.

The Tones had a good overall team performance and they were well served by Conor McKeever, Adrian Crawford, Rioghan Ó Beaglaíoch & Alan Callaghan. Joe Smith’s dead ball skills were impressive as always, whilst Ben Reilly’s two goals were expertly dispatched. The Tone’s supporters were delighted to see the return of Pauric Diamond and he looked in good shape for the year ahead.
