Moynalty 0-11 Castletown 4-18

A youthful Moynalty team hosted newly crowned Corn na Boinne winners Castletown in Moynalty and it was Moynalty who opened the scoring with a fine point from Bryan McCormack, this was followed up with a free from Ollie Sheridan, but Castletown responded with 9 unanswered points. Johnny Lynch was busy in the Moynalty goal making a string of good saves to keep the Moynalty in the game, a Castletown goal on 22 mins and 3 further points added more pressure but Moynalty responded with points from James Lynch, and a well worked team point finished by Jake Smyth & another Ollie Sheridan point ended the half Moynalty 0-6 Castletown 1-13

The second half started well for Moynalty with plenty of possession and Ollie Sheridan added another but that was as good as it got for the reds, as Castletown struck with another well worked goal and further points in quick succession. With the game slipping away Moynalty made further changes with Paddy Gallagher, Dylan Gargan & Conor O Reilly coming on for Jude Gilsenan, James Lynch & Richie Gilsenan, Castletown added a further goal on 48 mins, but Moynalty battled on and added further points from Bryan McCormack, Cathal Donoghue & another from Ollie Sheridan. With time almost up Castletown scored the 4th and final goal to end the game on a full-time score line Moynalty 0-11 Castletown 4-18.
