Camogie Div 3: Big win for O'Mahony's

Lizzie Brennan - Navan O'Mahony's

Navan O'Mahony's 5-20 Kiltale 1-05

Navan O’Mahonys came out on top in their Division 3 clash with Kiltale in beautiful conditions in Kiltale GAA.

The visitors looked sharp from the throw in and established an early lead that they were able to maintain until the finish. The forward line moved well throughout, and the opening half gave Jorja Keogh, Lauren Woods and Lizzy Brennan ample opportunity to display their impressive accuracy.

At the other end of the field Amanda Feeney dealt well with several high balls that landed into the Navan square from lengthy Kiltale deliveries. Megan Kinsella pulled off a couple of great high catches as Kiltale tried to apply some early pressure, but with centre back Alannah Brady marshalling the back line well , scoring chances for the home side were kept to a minimum.

O’Mahonys made several substitutions at half time and some more 10 minutes into the second half. Encouragingly there was no drop in work rate or quality and every player that came on contributed handsomely to a fine second half display. Kiltale to their credit never threw in the towel, even with several players who had turned out less than 24 hours previously.

As players tired, more space began to appear and Izzy Kinsella in particular showed real quality in picking out the right pass at the right time in putting her team mates through for scores.

Next for this team is a home fixture against an unbeaten Trim side who are sure to provide a huge test.
