Meath's Aoibhinn Ward in action against Roscommon

Meath 5-14, Roscommon 3-4

An ultra efficient Meath side secured themselves a well deserved place in the All Ireland U-16 Camogie semi-final with home advantage following this win over Roscommon in Boyle on Sunday afternoon. An early second half blitz from an excellent Meath forward division put this final group game out of reach of the home side.

The first quarter was an even affair as points were exchanged between both sides with the ever reliable Saoirse Meagher (Clann Na Gael) and Ellen Murray (Trim) opening with well taken points.
12 minutes in Meabh Cunningham (Kildalkey) raced clear down the right to fire home Meath's opening goal. The excellent Murray, Meagher and Faye Govern (Dunderry) kept the scoreboard ticking over, Half time Meath 1-9 Roscommon 1-3.

The second half opened with Meath dominating the early battle against the breeze, scoring three well worked goals, Murray (2) and Holly Reilly (Boardsmill) firing to the back of the net.
The introduction of Aoife Dunne (Kildalkey) and Eve McCormack (Killyon) drove Meath to dominate the middle third and Reilly tagging on another goal.

The excellent Aoibhinn Ward (Na Fianna) and Grace Hogan (Navan O'Mahonys) broke up any Roscommon threat.
