St Colmcille's 0-10 Moynalty 2-14
Moynalty got their first points of the J.M.B. Sportsfield Services Football League Division 4 on Sunday morning with an impressive display against St. Colmcille's.
It is a long spin to the aptly named 'Seafield' pitch in Laytown, but that didn't stop Moynalty starting quickly with 1-3 unanswered inside the opening 5 minutes. Ollie Sheridan found the back of the net along with a point, whilst Joe Gilsenan and Jude Gilsenan also both found the white flag. The remainder of the half saw both teams exchanging points as Moynalty held onto their lead throughout.
Half time score St. Colmcille's 0-05 Moynalty 1-09.
The second half saw Moynalty starting quickly again, with Jude Gilsenan finding the back of the net 5 minutes in to put 10 points between the sides. The hard-working midfield of Niall O'Connor and Sean Mac Mahon allowed Moynalty to dominate possession throughout the game. The homeside pushed for a goal, but Moynalty's defence stood firm, with Johnny Lynch ever reliable under any high balls and Jake Smyth also outstanding with a goal saving clearance near the end.
